I have four Radion Pros set up and am using the ReefLink. I downloaded the new iPhone/iPad App and have played around with it a bit. One thing I noticed is that there is no way to adjust my schedule settings via the App. Am I missing something? Is there any literature published on the App? Are schedule adjustments something that may be included in the App later on?

I am setting up an iPad that will be mounted to the front of the display stand and am just trying to determine if I will use the App or if I will need to sign into ESL every time.

Awesome product!!!

Thanks,
David

Do you have to have ecotech live running and connected by USB to use the app? I don't see the value of the app if that's the case.

No. There are not connections. ESL is connected wirelessly via the ReefLink and the App is on my iPhone/iPad.

Is the app downloadable for everyone right now or only beta testers?

If it is available to everyone, you can download it at the Apple App Store. Not sure if it is only available to Beta Testers or to everyone at this time.

The App is available on the App Store at this time for all users. Also, the ESL App is currently in Beta and does not have all the features that EcoSmart Live currently does.

It's not an ipad app if that's what you are searching on. You will have to download the iphone copy and zoom it.

Is there any plan of making it an ipad app btw?

If you search on Ecosmart Live, you should find it. I downloaded it and looked at it. I did not see how to look at my schedule like I can from Ecosmartlive. It may be there. I just have not seen it yet.

App works fine on my iPad and I don't have to zoom it...

What app are you using? When I search for ecotech all I get is he iphone ESL app. It then starts in 2x (zoom) mode.

This is the app I was asking ecotech if they would be making as a native ipad app.

I am not sure if you need to have a ReefLink for the App to work properly on your iPad but I do have the Beta ReefLink and here is what the App looks like on my iPad. Yes it is the same App from the Apple App Store.

Ye, that's the same app I see. It's the iphone app, that's why there is the black border. It is zoomed in. A native ipad app would not be zoomed in like that. It will most definitely work, just not as well as it could.

OK, I see your point. In recent conversations with EcoTech I can tell you they will eventually introduce an App designed specifically for the iPad. I just don't know when that will be but Shaun is working on it.

I don't have a ReefLink and I had my Radion G2 connected to the ecosmartlive website and I could control it from the app over wifi and LTE 4G

Every time I try to login on my iPhone 5s it crashes. Right after I hit submit it closes.

So you have it tethered with USB to the computer and then you can control it on the app ?

I want to know if I need the reeflink to be totally wireless ... don't want teh USB always connected

If I want to use the app, I noticed I have to have it plugged in and running with ecosmart live, other wise you need the ReefLink

The reeflink and the app are totally wireless with no need to be connected to anything via USB

If you don't have a ReefLink, you can plug your Radion into your computer and run Ecosmart Live to connect to the app using wifi, 3G, or 4GLTE. If you have a ReefLink, you don't have to have it plugged in at all. Otherwise you have to have your Radion plugged in and running with Ecosmart Live
