I am building a stand fora 36" x 24" x 18" tall tank. The stand dimensions will be 37" x 25" x 36" tall. I am going to use Rockerengineers way of building it. Wat I am wondering is, Can I get away with using all 2 x 4's and not have to put a brace in the center of the front of the stand and also a brace on the top of the stand?

Or will I need to step it up to a 2 x 6's for the top and bottom?

All 2x4s would be fine. In fact, all plywood would be better if you can do it.

Make sure your best, straightest 2x4's are used for the top horizontal pieces, 2x6's would give you more strength and less risk but a glass tank on 2x4's is fine at ~30 inches. If it is an acryilic tank it will tend to bend more over time (years) so I'd go with 2x6's.

I definitely am not the most craftiest lol. For piece at mind. I'd rather use something else and skin it in plywood lol
