My tank has been running on metal halides - 250w, 21000k - for nearly four years. I just received the Mitras 6200 and I intend to make the switch over the weekend.

I was wondering if there a suggested way to initially set up the lighting on the Mitras so as to avoid shocking the corals. I have both LPS and SPS.

Thanks.

I would begin by setting the light for high efficiency at 40%. Since this mode is equivalent to a 250w MH bulb, it'll be easy on the corals. Week after week you can bring it up 5% and see how your corals respond after each change.
