The concept looks very good as there's no mechanical parts to fail from salt creep, snails, ect. Also has an audible alarm and auto stop

I actually ordered it a few hours ago. Should be here within the next few days. I don't mind taking a chance. I'm pretty on top of checking my water level everyday in my sump since I fill it by hand right now. I'll be able to make sure that it's operating correctly.

On another (but still related) note. Anyone using the tunze nano on a larger system? I know it still uses a float valve but it's around $100 and comes with its own pump. I run mine in the sump which has a filter sock and only rum a 2 or 5 gallon resovoir so stuck switches would do minimal damage. If my jbj ever starts having issues I'm getting the tunze nano. It should easily maintain the water level in. 20 gal sump without the saftey kicking in.

Thanks, GSep send me a PM after about a week or so and if you would let me know what you think. Im in the early stages of setting up a 150 and like yourself I am doing daily top-offs by hand. Also just noticed your post count, Welcome to the reef! You'll find there is some great info on this site.

Coralvue has a nice looking unit releasing November also. Its $159, does not use a float valve looks like it would take two seconds to ser up, uses a magnetic mount and is the size of s golf ball. http://www.coralvue.com/smart-ato-automatic-top-off-system-462

I especially like the unit above as not only has no float valve but the eye is on the outside making it even harder to get blocked or fail. Heck, you would barely even need to get your hands wet to raise or lower the height of the sensor if not for the magnet. I'm leaning towards one of these.

i just installed an Innovative Marine Hydrofill and so far (about 3 weeks) it has worked perfectly. Very simple to install, only have to remember to keep my RO/DI container full.
