Hi guys picking up a new tank today and will be doing an LED build for it, it will be for sps/lps reef, the tank itself is a 48" x 24"w x 30"h, it has a central brace bar across the top of about 3" so probably no "centre" LED
anyway, things i DO know are that I want to use 100w multichips, they should be dimmable so i can adjust the blue to white ratio and also maybe allow me to add in a controller of some sort in the future
what i DON'T know is what specific LED "multichip" and drivers i should be looking at and how many? i initially thought 2 then thought there might not be enough light spread so thought of 3 but remembered that i have the centre brace so didn't know if i should go up to 4 lol, and should i buy chips with blues and whites in it and run different channels or just run separate "blue" chips on a different dimmable driver? and what lenses? 60 degree? 90?
i will Probably be using suspended GPU coolers on a rail along the same lines as maglofster did
I realise theres probably many different ways to skin a cat, but i probably need the most cost effective way at the moment (that will still allow future upgradabilty like a controller without having to junk what i already bought)
because i still have the rest of the system to sort out as well.
Thanks in advance guys
PS I'm also in the uk so if theres anyone with specific uk/european websites with regards to led builds using the stuff we can get here all the better
