I have an algae that won't die and I'm at a loss for what kind of algae it might be. It's not red hair algae but it is a dull red brown in color. It's not cyano red slim or dynoflagellites. I have been reading and I think there's a red algae that's similar to red cyano but is fluffy like hair algae. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea about this at all I'd love the help.http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b601/920reefer/0ef4768d4e44581f4eb002f9334b6dbe_zps72d2555b.jpg

And no it's not red hair algae I promise you. I've done lights out for 4 days. Gfo bio pellets everything. This is what is leading me to believe that its a kind of cyano bacteria just not the red slime variant. I'm really just wondering if anyone else has seen this strain.

There are a few ways to kill it. Starving it, grazing, chemical burns etc
Check out big thread in nanos forum for one way that will kill it and remove it from your rock. If you post a full tank shot here, we w do a custom fix, it can be killed off in 9 days. The thread is long, but when you see enough after pics things become apparent.

We are terrible at identifying algae in the thread and I have no idea what kind you have, my only interest is fixing. This way is the fastest and most thorough for that specific invader you have

Your aquascaping makes this tank an exact match for our method. Your invader is an obligate hitchhiker and will take months to die off from nutrient control if at all.
