I have a flame angel in my DT in an acclimation box since sat morning. He was eating Mysis at the lfs but hasn't eaten anything I have given him since being in the acclimation box. I have tried frozen Mysis, frozen brine, NLS pellets and Nori. Its now day 3, when should I start to be concerned?

thanks

Stress will deter him from eating. Let him relax and he will hopefully start eating. I hear garlic with their food help the appetite. I know it helps mine! :)

If no one is bothering him, release him!... But ... There seems to be more reports lately of problems with flame angels

My coral beauty was harassing him initially. I usually like to make sure a fish is eating normally before releasing him

More so than I can remember. In the 8 months I have had my tank back up and running I have only lost three fish - one to stupidity (mine, not the fish) and two to some kind of malady, and both were flames.

To the OP, I take it you do not QT new fish. You might want to consider it!

I had a similar situation about a month ago. I used garlic in the mysis shrimp and also used a product called selcon with the mysis. Eating great now but first week was exactly as you state and then I switched to the additives. Good luck.

If possible, catch the coral beauty and put her in the acclimation box, and let the flame settle into the tank without being harassed. Definitely agree with the above on quarantining new additions.

That's really more of a QT thing than for the acclimation box, IMO.
Do you have a PVC 'hiding' place in the box?
Coral beauty can be a problem, but I recently added 2 more small f flames to a pair I've had for years, and after 2 days in acclimation box, the 10 other Angels, including coral beauty didn't bother them

I have been dosing the food with garlic and selcon since day 1, still not interested.

I do not advocate not using a QT but its my personal choice and I am well aware of the consequences of not doing so.
