Hi, I'm looking at a ETSS 1000 skimmer. I have an Iwaki 100RLT as a return pump and it's being used at about 1/2 capacity. Would the remaining 1/2 capacity be enough to run the ETSS 1000, or would it need a dedicated pump?
Thx,
Dave

I owned a etss 500 and it generally was good with around 500 gal per hour

W/O a doubt.... It would need its own pump. These type of skimmers work much MUCH better with a more powerful pump.

If the iwaki pump is dialed back on the return, get a properly sized return pump then throw the iwaki on the etss

Thanks folks for the info. I mispoke, it's a etss 600 not a 1000. It takes the 40RLT. The problem is I need the head spec from the 100RLT because the rise is 28 feet from the basement to a tank on the second floor, yet we didn't need all the flow it gave at that head. It's got a pretty flat curve on flow from 20 to 30 feet so it's pretty nice.
