It's been a couple of years since I've had a tank up, but it time to get back into it. I bought a 190 5 ft tank that I'm building in the wall. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/17/e3a5usyq.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/17/9a7etyne.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/17/bahedeva.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/17/u3a8ygad.jpg

I should have the tank on the stand next week, and I'm going to start setting up the sump also.

While I can copy the URL to see your pictures, none of your embedded image links are working for me for whatever reason.

You put the wrappers around the pics and then hit the image icon. You should do one or the other.

What foam and how thick is under the DT? Also do you really need it since its a glass tank?

DaBears08

(GOT_REEF) It is 2 in thick, I use it when I build stands because if there are any inperfections in the stand at all (i.e.) a nail head or splinter or the 2x4s are a little uneven, it conforms to the wood to have a nice flat surface.

(FishGate) thanks for the help. Im using a APP TAPATALK on my phone to post, thought it would be easer but I guess not.

Hmmm, looks like you have a rim around the bottom of your tank. I thought that was only for rimless tanks? With the weight of the tank on the rim (where it should be) the raised center will receive pressure from the foam as the weight presses down only the edge of the tank down, and could bust the bottom of the tank right?

The tank is from Glass cages, and they recommend putting foam underneath it.

There is going to be roughly 2000 lbs between water, rock and sand. wether it is pushing up or down on the bottom of the tank it is still 2000 lbs. The foam will give and if anything relieve some of that pressure. I have had a lot of tanks set up this way and never had a problem.

I have a Blueline 70. It is the best skimmer IMO.

You like the Wall Style of aquascaping huh.... Not really my style. I like a wider tank rather than tall and narrow. What type of coral will you keep? I prefer a softie tank. Corals have to be able to move for me. SPS tanks just don't move right, but I see the beauty of all styles.
Have fun.

I only got this tank because it was a great price, $400.00. I would have prefered a 8 ft but my choices are limited in the U.P..

What is the consecences on GFI? I don't want to do a GFI breaker because I don't want the whole system to go down if it pops the GFI. What does everybody else do? I'm going to have a Apex Controller.

GFI or not isn't even an option in my book. You need it so you don't roast the whole tank or your house.

Get two 15a breakers with gfi sockets so your sure you're not pullin too much juice and you should be good.
