I have been thinking of setting up a dedicated heat recovery ventilator for my fish room. Basically when to outside humidity is lower than the fish room humidity it will kick on and exchange the air, high efficiency units recover 95% of the heat and almost the same for the a/c. Anybody set one up?

Cost for the units are 450 up to 2000$

With 800 gallons wet, it can get well, wet!

Sounds like a great opportunity for a DIY an air-to-air heat exchanger.

I have a whole house HRV system. It does a great job keeping the house fresh and managing ~400g of water in my home. I plan on adding a humidistat wired to the HRV in the fish room, set it at ~50% and walk away. I am a fan of HRV's.

My fish room is in the basement, so I think it will be my next project.
