HI, I'm starting a 75 gal marine tank. I have a 55 gal fresh right now and I'm planning on using that canister filter on my salt tank. Was wondering if the bacteria will live if i hook up to salt tank or do i need to put all new media in it?

Was also wondering how ppl like dry rock? I ordered 115 pounds for my tank.

Right now I have for my salt tank:
Refractometer
brs 4 stage ro/di system
115 pounds dry rock
2 heaters
reef octopus bh90
2-sicce voyager 1200gph
instant ocean salt

plan to move over marineland c360 canister filter.

will order:
fiji pink arag alive reef sand
2-AI hydra leds and controler

Hows my list so far?

You're really not going to want to use that canister you have. You are however going to want to spend a little on some live rock to seed your dry rock. Live rock is what filters the water of ammonia and nitrites. The canister would do this in the FW tank. And thus not needed for SW. In the short run you may want to invest in a sump set up, that 55 you have would be perfect for that, and you woukd have a place for your skimmer, more water volume and a fuge if you set it all up. Hope this helps!!!
