Hello everyone I'm am getting back into the hobby with a 34 gallon solona and was wondering what is YOUR opinion on the best skimmer to use. The aquarium will be stocked with SPS,zoas and some LPS. Thanks for your advice and opinions.:bounce1:

Are you planning on using a sump, or a HOB skimmer?

HOB - Reef Octopus HOBs receive great reviews

Sump - Depending on sump size and available room, I would recommend the ASM Mini-G, CAD Lights PLS-50 or PLS-100 or the SWC 301.

Aqua max hob - 1. Love it for hang on. In sump reef octos are great

Yeah it will be a hang on, no sump.

I would recommend the Reef Octopus BH100 if you are going HOB.

I would really take a look at the CAD Lights PLS-50 too. They are super tiny and will skim up to a 50g tank. They are only 3.5" diameter. It could be a solid option for you.

Thanks for info guys, I have always used Octo skimmers so maybe I might just get the hob but still open to other opinions
