I was looking at the Apex Controllers but they are Very Expensive and I do not need all the Stuff they offer.

What I need is something that will let My Smart Phone tell me what the PH, Salinity, and Temperature is when I am away from Home.

I am just looking for security and piece of mind.

I do not want to "Control" Anything.

Everything I do is Manual (Even my Lights do not have Timers).

I want peace of mind by seeing how my Aquarium is doing on my Phone.

Is there something out there that will meet my needs other than an Apex?

Apex Jr is another option, or the reefkeeper lifeguard. Both are about the same price and are the cheapest option for internet accessibility out the box compared to the full APEX or RKE.

I have the ReefAngel and really dig it too. It comes with a lot out of the box. Right now they are running a special for Txgiving. The 'plus' Controller (includes PH, temp, topoff, led dimming, 8 outlets, lcd screen) with the Wi-Fi attachment for about $300. Don't work for them but I am pretty happy with them.

getting salinity is the trick.

Me personally, I run a full apex and just ordered the auto feeder and probably getting a second vdm as well too for more light control. I know you say you don't want control now, but the peace of mind and options you can do with an apex are astounding. Auto top off system is easily integrated, as well as fallback and fault settings if something goes wrong while you're away. I'd personally go for the lite in your situation as you don't need a second ph probe or variable outlets either.

Dude, you can't do ANY of that without a controller of some sort. Even if you don't want to use the outlets provided to control stuff, you need the controller for modules and probes to connect to so that it can send/display the data that it collects.

There are no shortcuts here.

If you want all the cool toys, you have to pay for it. Simple as that. Apex is expensive, but it is a one-time investment that will give you peace of mind and expandability down the road when you do want to control everything (and you will).

Apex is just the best at doing exactly what you need.
