I am having a tough time deciding on which fixture to buy. The 15 percent off on BRS is making just bite the bullet and buy one since they are like 50 dollars off and I dont think Ill find a better deal.
I was looking at used fixtures but people are asking 300 bucks not even shipped with 6 or 7 month old bulbs that will need replacing. Assuming shipping will be ~25 bucks at least and new bulbs will probably cost 100 you would probably end up paying more for a used fixture than a new one...doesnt make much sense.
Either way which fixture would be optimal over a 36x18x18 tank. I have heard opinions in both directions but want to make sure before spending 400 dollars.
Also what bulb combo? Right now I have 2 Blue + a UVL Actinic and a Purple + in a four bulb fixture and its a little white for my liking. I would like to go a little bluer but not at a loss of coral color. I would imagine 5 Blue + and a Purple + would be way too blue and wash out corals or am I wrong?
