About 2 weeks away from purchasing one of your skimmers . I have a 300 gal tank and I am adding sump/ refugium made of two 30 gal breeder tanks . I will eventually end up with a mixed reef and was debating between purchasing your 9415 or you 9430 . Noticed on your website under the 9415 its only recommended for a 240 gal mixed reef , but under your 9430 those size and recommendations are not there . What is you 9430 rated for when running a mixed reef

All of our skimmers use the same scale-

Stated rating is for a FOWLR or Dutch reef (something rarely seen anymore but it was basically heavy on macro algaes, marine plants and a few mushrooms and sturdy leathers, a deluxe FOWLR)

Deduct 20% for a soft coral or LPS tank

Deduct 40% for a mixed reef with some SPS

Deduct 60% for a full blown SPS tank

Deduct 70% for a heavily stocked with fish SPS tank

A 9430 should handle a 480, I think you could go either way. I would lean toward the 9430 if you plan a lot of SPS or a lot of fish and no other filtration. If you will use phosphate remover, biopellets, etc and keep the fish and SPS levels low and run a refugium with some algaes, the 9415 is likely plenty.
