View Full Version : LSM doesn't seem to change intensity?

I have notices lately that my LSM does not seem to change the intensity of the moon lights according to the seasonal table. I can manually adjust the intensity from the dashboard but it does not seem to happen automatically.

As an example, the night to today the intensity should be 14% which is not much but the whole tank was bright when they were on.

Here is my code for the LSM outlet.

If Moon 000/000 Then ON

Am I missing something?

Was it working previously? Can you take a screen shot of your season table?

Sorry for the very late reply. Business trips and the Holidays took over my life. Anyway, Below is a fresh (from today) screenshot of my seasons table for January. Right now the intensity should be bright due to the time of the month so not a good day to observe any tests. However, I at least get the felling that the intensity is the same no matter what day. The on/off times seem to be correct according to the table so that part works. Not just the intensity. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

they're just little LEDs, im not sure you can even notice the difference in intensity from say 15% to 65% for example. in other words, i believe the thing you are trying to measure is too small

If I manually change the intensity from the Apex UI there is a big difference between let say 70% and 10% (one very bright and one very dim).

Still seem to have an issue with this. The intensity is constant no matter which day of the month it is. The time when they come on does differ however and seem to match up with the season table. What else can I check?

Did You perform a firmware update on your LSM Module ?

Was a while ago. Have not done one after the APEX Fusion upgrade. That being said, I had this issue even before Fusion though. Will check the firmware of the LSM tonight after work.

Checked the LSM firmware and sure enough, it was old. Updated it. Will see tomorrow morning if it worked. LSM turns on around 6am with intensity 7. Should be very good test to see if it works.

Checked the intensity this morning and no obvious change. It should only have the intensity of 7 but it looks very bright. When I checked the web interface and hovered the mouse over the tile it says it is at 95% which looks about right. I can manually slide the intensity slider to any value and if I put it at 7 the LEDs are very dim. As soon as I put it back into Auto though it jumps right back to 95. Guess I will have to just wait for Neptune to get back to me with my support ticket.

Got a reply from Neptune systems. Please see below what they write.

Thank you for your inquiry, and I'm sorry to hear you are having some trouble. After reviewing your thread, it appears there is a bug in the LSM FW right now. It will be resolved in our next major firmware release. I do not have a time line at the moment for when that might be scheduled.

I apologize for the trouble, and appreciate your patience as we get this fixed.

Hopefully they will fix this soon. If this is true they I would think a lot of other people would have the same issue?

Every one who is having this issue should open a ticket with neptune so they know it is a serious problem and will expedite the fix .
