I'm wanting to do a DIY. Ceramic piece for my 30 hex. There's a local DIY ceramic shop near my house. Now I can use there clay or I'm thinking of terra cottage clay like this. http://www.dickblick.com/products/amaco-no-77-terra-cotta-earthenware-clay/

Yes you can use this just fine as long as you can bake this one with recommended temp. I have built some pieces and I glazed them with clear and they came out just fine.... They have been in my reef tank for well over 6 months....
