View Full Version : A natural way to kill anthelia and xenia?

I have a SPS dominated reef. When I upgraded my tank in June, I thought I was able to remove all of the anthelia and xenia in the system. Out through the small cracks in the rocks survived pulsating xenia and some anthelia.

Now it is a weed in my tank and I cannot go in there and just scrap it off or remove it.

Anything I can put in there to eat this? Somebody told me to try Joes Juice and that didn't work very well to say the least...

Uses electricity to dissolve aptasia. Should work on Xenia too.

Oh ya and it doesn't hurt anything else in the tank unless u touch the end to it.

Don't waste your time or money on the majano wand. I tried it for blue xenia, and it took forever to kill any of it and after spending hours on small patches on a rock it would just grow back. I ended up pulling all the rock out of my tank and drying it out to get rid of it.

I'm not sure about this but inject the base with H202?

I got rid of mine by cutting it off the rock as close as I could then put coral putty over the stump

fluke tabs, if you can still find some, work great for killing gsp, xenia, and some leathers.

Got rid of mine the old fashioned way, by waiting for the tank to stabilize and kept the water very clean. Other things thrived, but it died...

This worked for me along with getting the nutrients really low. They thrive in a dirty tank.

Money makers right there. My LFS will give about $40 for a baseball size rock covered in xenia. Frag and sell.
