I am adding a PVC burrow for my G. Tern tonight, and I was wondering if she would rather have one opening to her burrow or a couple more. I know they are found in branching coral in the wild, but I don't know how many entrances they usually have in their cavities.

My G. Ternatensis has three. One has been blocked off and isn't used. I'd shoot for two. From a tactical standpoint, two is a good number for them. Easy to defend. One end can be blocked off if desired, and there's always a way out. Make sure it's large enough that it can turn around inside.

Make sure both entrances are visible to you or they'll just hang out all the time at the non-visible entrance.

The cavities I've seen in the field had either one or two entrances.

Thank you. I decided to give her the option of choosing how many entrances she wanted out of three. She boarded up one of them and now seems very happy.
