Our hippo tang (which is usually moving about in our 175 gallon tank very happily) temp 79 degrees, salinity is 1.124, cal is 475, nitrates close to zero. Nothing has been added or changed. Skimming is good.

No discoloration to the tang. He is laying on his side at the bottom of the tank truly having a difficult time breathing.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

1.124 or 1.024?

how long has the tank been set up for?

salinity is 1.024 sorry

set the tank back up in August...after having it for seven years, primarily a coral tank...

A death in the family, just no time to truly work with the tank...

We have one engineer gobby, a blue jewel damsel and a clown fish

Maybe a swim bladder infection? I lost a harlequin tusk and it sounds very similar to the symptoms you are seeing.
