In-line heaters

Has anyone tried using an inline heater? I would like to get one as my sump space is getting very limited but it seems like you need a lot more wattage to get the same amount of heat as a standard heater.

I run them on all my freshwater tanks. I have a 300w hydor Inline on a 90 with an eheim 2217 and it keeps the temp set steady 80 with ambient temp of 71. I also run a 200w hydor on a 37 gallon zebra pleco tank that is kept at 86 degrees with a eheim 2215. Never had any problems with these heaters, been using them for years.
