View Full Version : Venting Canopy

My canopy has been collecting condensation in the top for the past couple weeks. I want to cut holes in the back to help it breath but I don't want any light leak, or carpet surfers. I was thinking about using soffit vents or a register cover. Has anyone ever done this before, or does anyone have any better suggestions?

Also, any suggestions on how big a hole I have to cut would be good- the smaller I can get away with the better.

Here are pictures of my canopy before I finished it, in case that helps

Add a couple of small fans to the top or back.

+1 - fans and some slits rather than holes. Make sure the fans blow into the canopy - if they blow out of it, they tend to fail quicker.

You will really want to vent it. Slits work well above the location of your lights or right there close to them if they are mounted.
