Wrasses laying down!!!

I have quite number of fishes in my quarintine tank two of them are tamarin wrasses one of them is doing really fine the other one was doing good till the day before yesterday he was laying on his side i didnt give it much thought but today my leopard wrasse is also laying down on his side and they were doing fine for almost 3 weeks in hyposalinity!!! It seems something starting in my quarintine tank i only added macroalgae to control algae grwoth and some life copepods for my pipefishes

Wrasses often bury themselves in the sand, so laying down is rather normal, adding sand in a tupperware to the qt so wrasses have somewhere that feels normal to them to lie in is a practiced approach at helping them not stress. It sounds like normal behavior to me, especially if you lack lots of hiding places in the qt and have a big number of fish in there.

look for fading colors and signs of stress....lying on their side can be considered normal.

Anampses and Macropharyngodon spp. wrasses need a sandbed in which to bury themselves. Likely they are showing signs of stress without one. I would get some silica play sand, rinse it thoroughly and put it in a small tupperware container (or two) so they can utilize it.

whats the filtration in the qt
do you have a bunch of pvc or hiding places in there

Did you treat them with anything prior to starting hypo? It's entirely possible they have something that hypo doesn't kill..

There are nine fishes in 30G no filteration system just regular water change every 2-3days and a powerhead and 2 air stones

No not really just hypo... Do u recomend any meds that i should had used???

I run all of my fish through cupramine and two rounds of prazi.

That is a lot of fish for that size qt, check ammonia.

This would be my first concern too. You are doing nothing you eliminate ammonia other than regular water changes.

This. The highest number of fish I have kept in my 20G QT is three, and they were small. This is with either established bio-media, or a booster with a bacterial supplement like Biospira. I would get some sort of filtration in place, as well as some sort of bio-filter ASAP. You might want to consider getting another QT up and running and move half of the fish into ti.

yeah, that is a lot for that small of a space with no filter, bio or mech. if any of those fish made it through the whole qt duration i would be surprised.....start adding to the dt or add biofiltration.,...but you will still need to make water changes every day to keep up with that many fish. its way to much to fast. i would move them all to the dt if you have no other larger qt or filter.
