I need to get some advice on the best way to get rid of ich. I have a 160 gallon tank that is 9 months old. The tank has been doing great and then I added a Powder Blue tang about a month ago. I had QT the tang for about 6 weeks and it looked great, no signs of ich. About a week after it was in the tank, ich started showing up all over the PB and my other fish. I lost a clown, an angel and the tang.

I now have a yellow tang, the other clown, and pajama cardinal. They are back, looking very healthy, but I know ich is still there. There is also a few newer corals in the tank, hammer, montipora, some zoas.

Here are the options I am considering...

1. Remove the 3 fish from the tank and put them in my 29 gallon QT tank. Let the tank run without fish for 12 weeks. While the fish are in the QT, treat with copper.
2. Lower the salinity of the tank to 1.08 and let the tank run for 4 - 6 weeks.

What do you think is the best way to tackle this issue. I want to get this out of the tank while it is still early.

Thx

Remove fish and treat in QT

Leave tank fallow, don't add anything during that time.
