Tunze make excellent products including this skimmer for a small tank. However most people do not use a skimmer for a tank of this type Almost any medications would make the skimmer over foam. Most people just do frequent water changes, something must be done when medicating.

Thank you. Im setting this tank as a QT for my new livestock. My 125 mixed reef tank is fish less because of Ich. But after I restock my livestock I will not shut down that tank. I might put couple not reef safe fishes in and use it as regular tank. Is this possible to have QT when needed and Display if all goes well?Thats why I ask about skimmer. And this one goes inside aquarium so no problem with leaks. Thank you. Tunze make excellent products including this skimmer for a small tank. I like it. Completely quiet, few micro bubbles after break in and skims a lot. Much better than the eshopps nano I had. Helps keep surface scum at bay.

FlyPenFly, what tank size and bioload do you have going?

I run one on my 60, which is the top end of its capability. Very quiet, which was a primary criteria for me. Consistently pulls nice skimate. I have a pretty heavy bioload. My nitrates range 0-1ppm. I run mine in a sump, so I haven't seen any micro bubble issues. Very pleased.
