Strange worm like thing fishing off my clam.

I kept seeing these long thread like things in my tank coming from what I thought was my clam. Turns out there is this little "worm" thing that lets out this line and when food sticks to it it reels it back in. Two little antennae poke out of the tube you see here but that is all you ever see of it. I really want it to go away as those threads are very unattractive and make it look like my clam is spewing all the time. But I thought it best to find out what it is first.
Anyone??

Most likely a vermetid snail.

I believe you were correct after further research. Too bad for the snail it could not be moved. But it was spewing that thready stuff all over the place. A Joes Juice cocktail carefully injected into the shell took care of it.
If it was anywhere else I would have left it alone.
