Dinoflagellates are toxic, are they not? To shellfish for sure and filter feeders. I'm wondering if cyanobacteria is also toxic in the same respect. Had two fish deaths mysteriously within adequate tank parameters. it had previously added to the skim at the waters surface till I added a something to disturb it.

I meant to title it toxic cyano

Dinos are toxic. Cyano, depending on the quantity is not. Now if you have it dripping off everything in the tank then yes it can do some damage. But if it's just a little bit here and there it's no toxic. If it was none of us would have livestock cuz we've all had it in our tanks;)
How long have you had the fish?

at least 2.5 yrs now. at least. hadn't noticed the dotty back grow at all. but my saddleback got as big as he could in there, they're supposed to be the largest species of clown.

I've seen snails die from an initial dinos outbreak and have even read about people losing fish.

Never had any livestock die from cyano (and I have a lot of it in my tank). :sad1:
