eunicid worm question

OK. I have a good size eunicid worm. The part that comes out is about 6 to 8 inches long and it is about 1/4 inch thick. I have watched him at night and he comes out and grabs a chunk of macro algae and pulls in back down his hiding place. If it is eating algae do I have to be concerned with it eating any animals in my tank? Most of my live rock came from Florida, so don't know if that helps with an ID or its feeding preference.
