Hey guys, picked up a luminarc reflector / old icecap ballast to fire up a 250 radion. I know most recommend m80 ballast but I don't want to buy a new ballast now. When testing the icecap out, it fires the bulb about 20% of the time. The rest of the time it rattles and hums but the bulb doesn't fire.
Is this commonly found in mh tech? (I never had mh before).
Does it mean ballast is shot? It does not make me very confident in my future sps tank that I can't fire up the lamp consistently
