I have a marble wrasse that came with a tank I recently purchased.
Is it reef safe, and will it out compete my mandarin for food?

Thanks

Beautiful fish. Here's what LA says ... In the tank, it will eat fireworms and pyramidellid snails, protecting corals and clams. In addition, it may eat feather dusters, wild shrimp, tubeworms, and flatworms.

I agree. Put him in my sump today and he devoured all the zooplankton. I also have some shrimp in the tank.

I would venture you wont have shrimp in the tank after long.

They are reef safe with caution. They get a little larger than most halichoeres, so more inverts may be on their menu. I have seen them kept with cleaners and blood shrimp, but have also seen them eat new shrimp put in the tank. They do scour the rocks for pods so depending on the pod populatiin and size of your tank there could be to much competition with your mandarin.
