50 gallon rimless cube, mixed reef. I was hand-holding the camera tonight, but will break out the tri-pod and try to get some good shots of the sps another day. I only had a few minutes tonight after the kiddos went to bed, before the lights shut off in the tank. And this was at feeding time, which is why there are so many spots... bits of food in the water. :)

Very nice +1

Might I suggest turning off your pumps before shooting? Suspended debris tends to settle out (so fewer spots) and polyps tend to inflate.

Yes, a tripod will open up creative possibilities. Much longer shutter speeds will be enabled with stationary corals and no flow, allowing for greater DOF, or lower iso, or shots in less well illuminated areas, if desired.

Thanks!

And thanks, Reef Bass for the tips. I'll definitely try that next time. My iso was kicked way up, LOL.

Great photos! Looks like I will need to go pick up a 100mm macro lens.

Really nice images with hand held. And, by the way, nice tank.
