i heard good things, but it's too much money for me. My corals grow fast enough and I would rather spend it on corals :)
I dose a little vodka, but other than that, just two part via a doser controller.

IMO It is just another way to crash your tank, I am a fan of keeping nutrient export simple, water change, skimmer and GFO.

Arnel to shine some light i been doing a little experimenting with zeo for that past 3 to 4 weeks on my 40b as of right now corals are reacting good with my current dosing the only feed back i can give right now is that it does really well with recovery corals color right now doesnt show to much difference beside one of my corals. growth looks like its about that same.
current dosing is:
CV: one drop everyday night
SP: two drops everyday
AAC: two drops twice a week
Phols: 3 ml twice a week
thinking might bum up a drop on everything and one ML aswell but that is it. Be carefull if you decide to start using it as with anything you add to your tank you want to do research before you add it.
Zeo is just another way of keeping a low nutrients and adding coral food and trace elements.

Besides fish poop, what's the best SPS food additives out there?

True! I'm a big fan of weekly water change and heavy skimming!

I have noticed improvment with Pohls Extra, and found half of recommended dose a couple times a week does the same as full dose. I had a bad experience overdosing K once as I made a mistake on changing dose program. Burned the tips on my SPS like a alk burn. I do not dose anymore.
I like to keep my corals colored up and healthy and I have found in my system that if my P04 is too low or my Nitrates too low my SPS looks pale. I shoot for .05 on my PO4 and change my GFO when it creeps up to .07 or .08. I feed coral food and extras when my PO4 is .03 or below. Nitrates I like to keep at 5, but I do not get wooried until they creep up to 20. When they do I do a water change and feed less for a week and it brings them back down to 5 quickly. I use the older large Hanna meter to test P04 as I never had much luck with new checkers.
When I first got in to SPS I was told P04 below .03 and Nitrate Zero, When I ran my tank like this my colors were never good and this is when I noticed Pohls did help with colors a bunch. Now I add more fish and try to get away with just feeding fish, but when I do feed the corals to help dirty the water there are a few foods I have good experience with.
Polyp Lab ReeRoids once a week, Coral Frenzy once a week, Aquavitro Fuel every other day, and I have been experimenting with some Algen Coral Smoothie when I find my tank extra clean as it is some pretty dirty stuff.
I do feed ReefRoids and Coral Frenzy once a week every week, but only feed the other stuff when my tank is too clean. None of these foods mess with my skimmer, but it does pull them out I am sure.
With this said I have friends who keep there tank sterile and use Zeo products with good luck, I just would rather add the fish to dirty up the water than $60 per bottle stuff, even though I do spend money on coral food, Zeo is expensive!

Hey Scott,
Thanks for the info! :) I'll give Pohl's Extra a try but using half the recommended dosage. I also feed reefroids 1x/week.
Do you guys think SPS corals like reef chili and cyclopeeze as well?

Arnel,
I decided to give Zeo a try in hopes of some better color from a few pieces (mainly my rainbow delight acro).
Prior to use the schedule below, I had undetectable (very low) N03, and PO4 WAS less than .03.
Here's what the guys @ Zeo gave me:
Monday:
1ml Pohl's Xtra
1 drop Sponge Power
ZeoStart 3 – 0.05 ml 2 x daily
Tuesday:
1 drop Coral Vitalizer
1 ml Amino Acid Concentrate LPS
ZeoStart 3 – 0.05 ml 2 x daily
Wednesday:
1 ml Pohl's Xtra
1 drop Sponge Power
ZeoStart 3 – 0.05 ml 2 x daily
Thursday:
1 drop ZeoFood7
1 drop ZeoBak
1 ml CoralSnow (lights off)
ZeoStart 3 – 0.05 ml 2 x daily
Friday:
1 ml Pohl's Xtra
1 drop Sponge Power
ZeoStart 3 – 0.05 ml 2 x daily
Saturday:
1 drop Coral Vitalizer
1 ml Amino Acid Concentrate LPS
ZeoStart 3 – 0.05 ml 2 x daily
Sunday:
10% Water Change
1 drop ZeoBak
1 ml CoralSnow (lights off)
ZeoStart 3 – 0.05 ml 2 x daily
The above schedule sent my PO4 to .10 within a day of my WC. By day 3 it was over .14, so I switch my schedule and stopped using, ZeoFood, XTra and Amino Acids.
I've since added a media reactor for my GFO and ditched ChemiPure Elite for BRS Rox. Everything is back in the range I like, so in another week or so, I'll slowly add back in ZeoFood, XTra and Amino Acids at a much lower rate.

I don't even test for p04 anymore if you do the research you'll see it's kinda pointless because there is two type of p04 in your system and the on the you test for is in your water colume. Plus unless you have a really high quality p04 test kit like elose which is the best p04 test kits. The way I see if my p04 is to high is that your corals won't have polpy extension and you start to see algea. As long as you keep up with your WC you'll be good
Calistyle if you weren't running the zeo media or BP your p04 will jump up that high because those two systems are ment to keep p03 & p04 at low ranges. With out them using all the addictive your gunna have a proble keeping a low nutiernt system. Using Gfo will help but with the zeo media or bp it promotes good bacteria to reproduce.

Alright folks,
Here's the plan so far (lights come on 12:00PM and turn off at 9:00PM):
Sunday:
Feed fish- Coral Frenzy at 2:00PM
Feed fish- Homemade frozen food with garlic and Selcon at 8:00PM
Feed corals- 3 drops of Coral Vitalizer and 1/4tsp of ReefRoids at 10:00PM
Monday:
Feed fish- Coral Frenzy at 1:00PM
Feed fish- Nori seaweed at 8:00PM
Zeo- 3 drops of Pohl's Extra at 10:00PM
Tuesday:
Feed fish- Coral Frenzy at 1:00PM
Feed fish- NLS and Elos pellets at 7:00PM
Zeo- 3 drops of Sponge Power at 10:00PM
Wednesday:
Feed fish- Coral Frenzy at 1:00PM
Feed fish- Homemade frozen food with garlic and Selcon at 8:00PM
Feed corals- 3 drops of Coral Vitalizer at 10:00PM
Thursday:
Feed fish- Coral Frenzy at 1:00PM
Feed fish- Nori seaweed at 8:00PM
Zeo- 3 drops of Pohl's Extra at 10:00PM
Friday:
Feed fish- Coral Frenzy at 1:00PM
Feed fish- NLS and Elos pellets at 7:00PM
Zeo- 3 drops of Sponge Power at 10:00PM
Saturday:
Feed corals- 1/4 tsp of reef chili and cyclop-eeze at 8:00AM
Change filter sock, clean skimmer, clean sump, and perform 20-25 gallon water change/other weekly maintenance at 10:00AM
Feed fish- Coral Frenzy at 1:00PM
Feed fish- Homemade frozen food at 8:00PM
---------------------------------------------------
I'm starting with 3 drops of CV, Pohl's Xtra, and Sponge Power each an hour after lights come off (except Saturday) this week and increasing it by a drop until I get to 6 drops/product each week.
And just FYI, Phosphate and Nitrate levels will be tested daily. I also feed my fish only as much as they can eat in a minute and my homemade frozen food consists of formula 2, brine shrimp, and PE mysis shrimp that I've rinsed out several times and soaked in garlic and Selcon and then refrozen. And finally, I always have about 60 gallons of saltwater made just in case something goes wrong (knock on wood).
Your thoughts???

I used the full zeovit method for 6 months and all it did was stunt coral growth and give me some weird algae on the sand that wouldn't go away until I stopped. I still am dosing the products (CV, SP, Xtra, FWS + CB, biomate), but I really don't see any changes no matter if I dose half or even double recommended amount on anything. Honestly, I will not be buying any of the products again. They didn't really provide anything to my tank that fish poop and feeding some reef chili couldn't do. I will say that I have some awesome sponge growth in my tank, though I can't say if this is because of the sponge power or just that they like my tank. I do think that flatworm stop has helped my corals produce a nice slime coat and fend off flatworms though. I have seen exactly 2 polyclade flatworms half-dead on a couple colonies that I was able to turkey baste off without much of a fight from them. The wrasses ate them instantly :D
I am experimenting with acropower since it is cheap and I am getting some decent results. PE is great at night after I dose and coral colors are shifting slightly meaning that I am noticing some different colors on the tips. They may just be because I stopped using biopellets 3 months ago and stopped using GFO 2 weeks ago because my nutrients were low and growth was suffering. I just can't feed this tank enough with just the skimmer and live rock lol.
