I already have these tanks so I'd like to use them and not have to buy different tanks.

Since both tanks have the same footprint (other than height), the 29g Long sump has to obviously fit between the vertical supports.... which would mean the 29g would also sit on top of the stand between the vertical supports.

Anyone have any advice on stand structure for this combo? Pics or a build thread would be nice if you know of any (I've already searched).

Here is a link to my 20 long build with stand holding a 20 long sump. I used a simple bathroom cabinet. It was 24" deep front to back which I did not have room for that so I cut it down to 18". The tank has been on this stand for 3 years with no problems.

Depends on how your stand is built really, you should probably post pics of your own stand for best advice.

Oh neat idea. Wish I had though of that before buying a bunch of wood and supplies lol

That's the thing... it's not built yet, I'm trying to get it right the first time. Just trying to figure out the design. Both the 29g and 20g Long have the same footprint... so if the 20g Long is sitting between the vertical supports then that means the 29g on top will too. That just makes me nervous.

I have 2x4's as framing.
