Alk consumption

I tested my alk and I added my additives to bring it up last nite from 7 to 9 dkh...well I tested this morning and it read 7 again can my coral consume that much over nite?? I only have a clam and 2 small Lps, 20 frags of sps and a some softies that's it with coral my Mag is at 1300 and my calcium is at 420 plz can someon help me figure this out??

Do you have any coraline algae? That will also add to your load. How big is your system?

My system is 108 gals 93 gal cube plus sump and on the rocks and under the shade areas none on the glass

2 dKH per day is a believable consumption rate. My 29g soft coral tanks ran 2-3 dKH per day due to coralline growth. Clams can consume a lot of calcium and alkalinity, too. Mine did.
