Hello All ...
Today my hammer coral is all shriveled up. Ive had it for about 2 months and has always been full and happy. Curious what you guys think. I'm about to do my Sunday weekly water change of 4 gallons. The tank is 20 gallons.
Just tested all my levels which remain pretty consistent.
Temp 78
Spec Grav 1.025
Nitrate about 15 ppm.
Calcium 400
Phosphate Between 0 and .25
ph 8.2
Alk 9.9 3.53
A few details from this week. Skimmer was off a few days because i replaced the poly filter thats in my hob filter. I think thats maybe why the nitrates bumped up a bit. I had gotten them down to 10...
I upped my calcium dosage from every other day to every day to try to get calcium level to 400.
I seem to be battling some nuisance algae these days... From what i read its pretty normal for a tank this age. So i cut my full intensity light period under my Current USA Orbit LED's from 10 hours to 6 hours a week ago.
Does the hammer look like its dying? I dont have much experience in the hobby so ive been learning a lot the last couple months.
Thanks for any input!
