I'm not necessarily new to the hobby, but I'm starting up another tank and I want to do this right. I was reading a lot about how to cycle a tank and how to make sure it's completely done and I have mixed information. A cycle is complete when the Ammonia rises and comes down to zero as Nitrites rise. Then the Nitrites go down to zero as Nitrates rise. Then you do water changes to bring Nitrates down to zero and then begin to add livestock, right? I know you can add live rock or a dead shrimp to help the cycle. I'm just confused on how to know when it's done.
