I am fighting what I believe to be hair Algae and bryopsis. Can I run Tech M & the GFO at the same time? I have been doing a lot of research and this seems to be my best option but I haven't started the process with either yet.

Yes you can do both.
Tech M has worked great for me in the past.

Yes you could raise your magnesium levels with Tech M and run GFO at the same time.

Great. Thanks. Would you suggest removing micro algae that I want to keep from the tank. Cheato?

I run GFO, dose with Tech M, and keep Chaeto.

Post a pic of how bad it is.

Not much to show right now because I just scrubbed most of it off and siphoned it out with a large water change.

I just helped my friend out who was lucky I spotted a tiny patch of of bryopsis. On his brand new setup. I told him to order a gallon of tech m, go buy a ton of peroxode , buy gfo and a reactor. He looked at me like I was crazy and said "isn't it just a little algae from cycling? I said you don't know what you are dealing with here. So I spent the next 4 hours putting all of his live rock in a bucket full of peroxide and letting each rock soak for at least 30 minutes. I made sure to scrub the rocks with a toothbrush before and after the peroxide dip. Then I grabbed a sheet and covered his tank and said keep your lights off for at least 3 weeks. He got his mag level up to 2100 with tech m and is aggressively using gfo. This seemed to work very well. His tank is 4 months old and there is no sign of bryopsis. The biggest thing with this crap is you need to be aware of what is going on in your tank and you need to act quickly. He was lucky he just was starting and that I was there to help. I feel that most of the people that have no success eradicating this stuff are the ones who waited to long. If you catch it early before it is all over your tank you can easily win. Trust me, he may not know it, but spending the day dipping those rocks in peroxide was a life saver for his system and his love for the hobby.

He got lucky. Me not so much. When you dip the whole rock in peroxide does it kill the bacteria on it? What other ill effects does it have on an established set up? Can you put it back in the display?

No, the hydrogen peroxide will not affect your corals or fish if you let them sit out for a while and soak them in RO/DI water. However it will kill the beneficial bacteria on your live rock, basically his live rock turned into base rock but it was worth it in the end

I would try the tech M before going overboard.
That should kill it, then just stay on top of WC's and maintenance, add the GFO to help keep things under control.
I've seen some pretty bad outbreaks of bryopsis handled w/ just the Tech M alone.
You are 9 months in, rock is just getting established, probably just hitting that mini cycleish stage, would be a shame to kill off the good as well as the bad at this point IMO.

That's where I'm gonna start. Dosing tech m for now and adding a gfo reactor. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah it is pretty difficult if you have corals.
