It's the only place in the whole tank where it is, and it doesn't feel real fuzzy

It looks like your standard Hair Algae to me.

This website (http://www.reefcleaners.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54&Itemid=60) might help with identification.

Any way to clear this little patch up before it spreads?

yes it couldnt be simpler and if you w post after pics Id link it to our 60 page thread

just lift out the whole zoanthid rock out of the tank

pour drops of a new bottle of 3% peroxide right on the algae, let sit in the air for 3 mins cooking. harmless to zo's and you've spot applied the peroxide only on the target so there is none on them anyway.

rinse off w clean saltwater dont remove the algae by hand

put back in tank take pic in 72 hours pls post back!! it w be a cool after shot, nearly totally disappeared just out of that one spot. we should not mess with water params to attack such a small patch of algae that would naturally just be grazed on in nature. simply zap and cheat lol

I actually dipped it in a tank/peroxide dip for 2 min. Maybe like 10% peroxide
I'll post it back in a few days.
Surprised at the little critters that came crawling out to die :(

applied to non target areas :) yes Id believe that lol but you should get a good kill on the target too heh

next time if you only apply to the target, no loss! will make good pics though.

Could be hair algae or bryopsis. The pic looks like a stringy algae but a large clump of it. Either way, a hydrogen peroxide solution is ideal. I usually do a 50/50 solution for about a minute. It worked on my zoa frags.
