Ok so first off I have to say you gotta love Petco for giving their tanks away at $1 per gallon and being ok with losing all that money. Lol I have a 75 gallon reef ready DT, I got a 29 gallon from Petco for 29 bucks that's the biggest tank I can fit in my stand without building a new stand. I went to the local glass shop and they cut me 4 pieces of glass 11 3/4" wide by 12" tall at 1/4" thick for $20 bucks, the glass is used but it's in my sump so who cares you will never see it.I thought I would post a picture to see what you guys think before I silicone in the baffles, sorry about the bad pictures they where taken off my ipad

Just make sure you plan enough room in the sump for the skimmer (if it is an in sump skimmer).

My plan is to have the skimmer in the sump. I am leaning toward the reef octopus diablo DCS170. But I have no measurements for it The way I have the sump set-up their is 8" for the skimmer is that enough room?

You would need the width and length of the base including the pump.

I looked it up:

Rated for Aquariums up to 200 Gallons
Footprint: 13″ x 9″ | Body Diameter: 7″ | Height: 23.45″

You should check in the Lighting and Equipment forum for other suggestions. This might be too much skimmer for your tank.

Also you can go to the Vendor section and make a post under Premium Aquatics to Jeremy. He is very good. They have great customer service.

With regards to the depth, that you can always work with by raising or lowering the skimmer on an easy to make stand.

Thank you Ken, I will post in the lighting and filteration section and ask Jeremy in the vendor section to see if I can get a better solution on what to use for a skimmer....
