Title says all. Will 5g a week be to much?

I switch mine all at once, so opinions vary. simply changing some params like calcium and alk isn't instantly going to hurt anything, its more of a preference. no right way to proceed only opinion. my tanks are small and get full water changes, the lfs switches brands in their premade

someone switched brands fast and their tank died...just doesnt have any correlation since the other side of the coin exists and for someone else's tank things are fine.

Just start making your regular water changes with NSW. I would limit the changes to 20%.

Whatever your normal water change schedule will work fine. There is no problem with doing it in larger amounts up to 100%- as long as temp,ph and salinity are the same. Every fish in your tank saw 100% water change when you brought it home. It is safer though to do smaller- because they is more room for errors to be absorbed.
