I thought i'd post a link to my ip camera thats under my cabinet if anybody's interested. I'm not going to post the main tanks camera yet because its in my room, i will whenever i am leaving for a while but I'm home all day today.

so click on the link and the Login: guest
Password: 12345
Then click on "Server Push Mode" and your in. My only request is that you don't leave the night vision thing on and don't change the settings but feel free to move the camera around to look around if you want.

That's awesome! Can you tell us more about the camera? I'd be interested in setting something like this up.

Its a Foscam IP camera attached to my network. I have one under the cabinet and one facing the tank so i can keep an eye on it when i'm gone. My iPhone has an app that opens it and its live stream all the time. They sell on amazon for $80.00. There are better cameras out there but the price for these is more then reasonable.

Thats pretty sweet! Even cooler that they have become that cheap.

I actually bought a baby monitor for when my son was born, that is much like this. I can see my son in his crib using my Iphone or Ipad. I was thinking that once he gets a little older and a baby monitor is not needed I would put it on the tank. Glad to see someone do something like this. Very cool

I had one of these foscams and it frustrated me. It couldn't handle the exposure. My tank is the only bright thing in a dark room, so the foscam tried to expose for the room, not the tank, even if I was pretty close to it. But of course I want to see the whole 7' long tank which is going to include a lot of the cabinetry top and bottom (my lights are in a canopy).

So i got a DropCam HD. It handles the exposure much better. Still not great, but much better. And its much easier to set up. Literally takes about one minute, all done in your browser.
The downside is no panning and more wide angle than I would like so I have to zoom in further, reducing resolution. But at least I can see the darn tank.

Here's my link. The public link is only active during the day while I'm not there. You know… just in case I'm walking around nekid or something. Nobody needs to see that. ;)

haha thats funny. Cool tank! I looked at those cameras, i wish i went with it instead. Foscam's are ok but the color is way off on mine and its a really grainy image.
