My percula went missing 2 weeks ago and I assumed he found a hole to die in and peaced out. I was pecking around in the sump and happened to glance up and I can see him swimming around in the overflow of my 65. Any suggestions on getting him out? I don't think a net will fit and he could easily avoid it between the pipes. Otherwise I guess he'll live out his days in self imposed solitary confinement.

This is absolutely the funniest thing I have ever seen on this forum. I would try to get him out. If he passes in there and you forget, parameters will skyrocket. Is there anyway to stop the overflow so you can get him out. If you reduce the water volume in the overflow it will reduce the ways he can get away.

my clown did the same thing, I got a small net and put a piece of shrimp in it. he swam right in to eat and I pulled him out. My clowns a fat pig so your results may vary.

good luck

You can also carefull fill up the overflow with marbles which will force him to the top and make him easier to net. Then suck out the marbles.

I agree, get him out. You should at least try with a net.

Easy peasy. Turn the pumps off, then take out the vertical drain pipe. The overlfow weir will drain and the fish ends up in the sump. Return fish to tank, turn pumps back on, and life goes on :). Has happened to me several times. Clowns and my 6 line seem to love that overflow waterflall.

your clown is a mentally unbalanced axe murderer. apparently, he realizes this without so much as a trial since he has doomed himself to solitary confinement. you should prolly just leave him there. at least you will know he can't murder you in your sleep.

Had the same thing happen. Use a small net and a piece of plastic. To corner him. Happened twice. 2nd time my wife's small hands was able to grab him.

Good luck

Got him! I just pulled the overflow tube and it quickly drained into the sump. He's happily back in the DT...... For now.....

One of my bangaii did the same thing. I managed to net her out n then put some egg crate on the overflow to stop it happening again :)

I have a valve on my overflow drain pipe so I can shut it off and the overflow fills all the way and to the top of the tank. Then I just chase 'em out if I can't net them!

You may want to figure out how he got in the overflow in the first place and try to cover any holes/gaps large enough for him to get through.
