I've had my maxima clam in my 40 breeder with 40 breeder sump/refugium for almost 3 months and i has looked extremely healthy until I came home today. The mouth was open almost the size of a dime, plus losing color right above his mouth. It is attached to a shell and sits in the sand bed. I have a 6 bulb t5 fixture. My parm: ph 8.1 / ammonia 0.5ppm / nitrate 20 ppm / calcium 440 / phosphate

I do 20% bi-weekly water change
Add strontium and molybdenum bi-weekly

Just did a 20% water change, what else should I do? HELP!!!

If it still tries to shut, look for parasites under the shell then place it on the rocks. Hope it is not too late.

The ammonia was high because he had already starte to decay. Mother Earth is now taking care of it in my backyard. RIP
