So the water test went well and I ordered a ecotech marine g2 and a apex controller from BRS it should be here Thursday. I ordered 45# fl live rock from my LFS Reefsmart along with an eshoppes psk200 and a deep blue triton 4.those should be here Saturday. I picked up a 40b for my sump . Here's the layout I was thinking
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/11/y2etunyg.jpg
So I was test fitting the 40b omg I have 1/8 in to spare from the back of the stand lol talk about a close fit
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/11/uja8eryb.jpg
So when I get home from the resort I've been at since Saturday with the family I will begin putting the baffles in the sump .

I was able to see the pics by copy/pasting the links looks like you are off to a good start.
IMHO I would choose the reef octopus over the Aquac skimmer. The Aquac will take up more sump space.
I'm curious though about the 40b as a sump though. Space under cubes can be very limited. the 40 won't leave much room room for other equipment under the stand. Will you have equipment outside of the stand?
I considered a 40b sump too but ended up with a 29G instead which left me with room for a 10G topoff reservoir (soon to be replaced with a 15g of the same footprint. The ATO is a life saver because I lose about 2 gallons a day from evap. It also left me room for a kalk reactor, and skimmer waste collector.
The downside is I could have squeezed in a very small fuge, but probably not big enough to be effective, so I may build one above the tank later if i ever decide I need one.
I did the herbie overflow mod and highly recommend it (It's completely silent)
Avast CS-1 Skimmer
Eheim 1262 return pump.
2 little fishies gfo reactor with carbon in it fed by the return pump.
here is what it looks like under my stand.

I got the sump finished I haven't really figured out what other equipment is going under there not much room but I might be able to make a shelf or put thing in the basement and pump upward idk yethttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/13/7uny5ezy.jpg
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/13/tarujehu.jpg
Now I'm starting to paint the stand frame with dry lock to keep out moister to help protect it

I have a dual rimless 93 gallon cube setup that I am currently trying to get everything balanced and cycling. I built a common stand for the two with a common sump. I got everything up and running just before Christmas. One tank looks perfectly fine the other i am battling cyano. Don't know why in one and not the other since they both have same lighting and they are plumbed together.

That skimmate is crazy for such a new tank! Is that just from the live rock?? And will that be your aquascape? I'm guessing not, I like the scape you said will be your inspiration for this tank...good luck!

I have emptied the collection cup 3-4 times at like 3/4 full in about a week or so of running no I'm still working on the scape I ran out of funding so once I get more i will add more as I go

I think it will look great once it is painted. Everything looks square and smooth.
Never heard of Reef Smart. They don't have their hours on FB. I'll have to look into when I can make a visit.

Curious to your settings for intensity, and hanging height... Wide lense or std?
