What is the best creature to eat red turf algae in a nano cube 28? I'd prefer something that is not likely to mow down my macro algaes.
Thanks

Any thoughts on this?

web searches will show only sporadic success using any form of grazing on this. it wrecks tanks. get mean! you will find the standard "my turbo snail ate it" and "my scopas tang ate it"
a direct attack does work, I beat it out of my tank. took a year.

Years ago when my tank was new I had a red fuzzy turf algae. Standard turbos and other snails didn't do the trick. Someone told me, "you have to get MEXICAN turbo's". I tried them and they worked. That was my only experience with the red fuzzy algae but the Mexican turbo's worked in my case. They are very large snails are a bit of plodders over everything but they ate the red stuff.

I have the stuff and it's slowly advancing in my tank. I'm going to try Mexican turbos, as the web is filled with anecdotal evidence that they can be effective. I'll probably also hit some of the worst spots (the rocks/corals I can take out of the tank) with peroxide. That will supposedly kill the algae in a matter of days. Just look for the "pico reef algae challenge" thread on RC for more examples of how the peroxide method works.
