I checked my water today as weekly what I do and I am shocked of the result. PH 8,1 , ammonia 0 , nitrite 0 , nitrate 10 , phosphate ( somewhere between 0,0-0,05) calcium 520 , KH 11 , magnesium 1600 . I am high in calcium, KH and magnesium. Can someone please help me what to do? My calcium is getting higher and higher after I changed my salt to Reef Crystal.

U need to do a couple water changes asap. Make sure ure mixing the salt properly..IE test it before putting it in ure tank. Maybe consider switching to instant ocean..ten years no issues.

Yeah definitely do a check of the water before putting it in the tank. But I wouldn't recommend Instant Ocean either. Both Reef Crystals and Instant Ocean are consistently putting out bad batches of salt. I use Aquavitro Salinity and would never go back to either.

Don't do anything. Your perimeters will come down naturally. Just keep testing.

We don't have aquavitro salinity here in Hong Kong

Just curious, since you joined RC in Dec. of 2013, should we assume this is a brand new tank and doesn't have anything in it that actually uses Mag. or Calc. at the moment? If that's the case - if your tank is new and not very stocked at the moment - then you really don't need to start right out with Reef Crystals or any salt that's going to put all those boosted additives for corals in your tank. I cycled with Instant Ocean specifically because it has low amounts of that stuff and I didn't need those things mucking up my params when there was nothing to consume the extra additives. Once cycled, and after I had added corals, I switched to a reef-specific salt (Red Sea Coral Pro) but before that you aren't 'feeding' anything those supplementals so they are going to climb and climb with every water change if you are using salt that is purposely formulated to add more of that stuff for corals to use up and there's no corals actually in the tank.

My tank is 6 months old and I am still deciding to put lps or only soft corals. Should I change salt then? Should I use instant ocean?

What they are saying is that it really doesn't matter. Whatever the KH and Ca values are of your new water will be the same as the values from your DT. Since there is no "coral building" happening.
