Live sand turning brown!

New tank and 1st cycle. Four weeks into the 1st cycle. Is the brown color normal?

Yep. Diatoms. Perfectly normal. Cyano will rear it's ugly head soon after. Just keep up with your water changes and maintenance.

Looks like diatoms. Normal for during a cycle. It should clear up on its own.

Thx for posting this Dexter, I am at almost the same stage as you and while I didnt get Diatom growth I do have my first Cyano across half the sand. Good to see these are normal for first cycles.
