Can anyone recommend a good retrofit T5 fixture?

It says it comes with a good ballast, is there anything better? What type of ballast do the ATI powermodules use?

ATI uses exclusively HEP ballasts in their fixtures. If you want a two bulb retrofit with awesome reflectors and an HEP ballast, then I would look at Bulk Reef Supply or Reef Geek.

+3, I also just installed a reefgeek dual 36" t5 retro to my diy led setup. There are some cheaper alernatives, but for $20 more you make sure you get top quality reflectors, ballast and the wireharness makes installation a breeze.

Looks like the Grimster was right about these retros then. I should have never second guessed him, although the reason was to have a complete retro in a easy to move from one tank to another fixture.

You guys are making me lean more towards the Let's.

I like the option of doing two bulbs at a time kinda like a dawn to dusk effect.

Just ordered the LET 5 foot, two bulb,T5 retro kit from reefgeek myself. I should be getting it tomorrow. I'm using it to supplement my leds. One T5 in front and one in back?

I was also going to do just 2 bulbs, but you can always add 2 more down the road if necessary. One bulb in the back sandwiched by 2x D120w Chinese LED's & 1 in the front.

If was going to do AB & B+, as I have always done, but I see many using B+ & coral+.

You know what would be cool, instead of having the lights just sit on the tank or hang down, to have them sit on the front of the tank & angle them to the front & back (45 degrees between front & back side of tank). When the corals grow, they will grow toward the front tank field of view & the corals will look massive from that perspective.
