View Full Version : 93 cube sump/refugium options.

I have had my 93 cube running for about 4 years now and I am thinking about changing my sump. Currently I am using a plastic bin with another plastic storage shelf filled with a "Rite-Size" pad to filter the larger particles out. Pic below:

I am using the stock Marineland stand an I was thinking about using a 20L that I could build myself. I would like to incorperate a refugium in the middle chamber. I cannot do this with the plastic bin. (cannot seal the chambers well enough) Would I be asking for trouble in a power outage? Thanks.

I dont think a power outtage would be a issue as long you have the water level in at the right height when running and test the level when pumps go off.

Heres mine to give you an idea. Its worked really well for me over the last 8 years.

Its a 40 breeder tank with acrylic baffling for my 90 gallon display.

First setup and dry run.
