it does not look exactly like your picture but i say it is similar. The forum only allow 104 kb size of photo...my original photos are more clear.
How do I do the same thing like you did, a link to the picture?
if they are indeed Aiptasia, then what's wrong with my water?
Thanks.

These look like a coral that I researched and identified as a solitary Caryophylliid. Search for it in wetwebmedia.com. There's a good picture that you may be able to confirm the ID with.

Possibly ball tip anemones? It's hard to tell from the picture.

some sort of sponges....I have similar looking "growths" not in the direct light and on vertical surfaces....have now grown siphons/tubes a t one end...but mine are a tad lighter than in your picture....some sort of sponge..filter feeder..your tank is good.:lol2:

with all the suggestions mentioned it does look more like pineapple sponge...it seems they are not bad stuffs but I don't like their look in my tank.....
Hope these 2 photos are clear.
Any "safe" way to get rid of them without harmful effect on fishes?

Look like pinneapple sponges, fairly common in newer tanks. They usually seem to explode in population early on after a tank is cycled, then will disappear after awhile. IIRC from reading, they use up silicates in a tank and die off when they're all used up. Just give it a little time and they will go away on their own.

I agree with the previous post. If you ignore them, they will go away of their own accord. I had a huge population explosion of these, particularly in the overflow, but they disappeared in a matter of a few weeks.

thank you all. FYI my tank is 6 years old, not a new setup, I did not have any change to my tank at all, wonder why it shows up now, 1st time ever
